Humble Beginnings
In early 1974, seventeen determined residents of Manorville decided to form a volunteer ambulance company. Their vision became reality on April 30, 1974, with the donation of a Cadillac ambulance.

From a donated Cadillac ambulance and no permanent headquarters to a modern six-bay facility serving one of Long Island's largest ambulance districts.
First Call to Service
On July 22, 1974, at 5:45 PM, Manorville Community Ambulance was dispatched for its first ambulance call after a motor vehicle accident was reported on Sunrise Highway in Center Moriches.
Overcoming Challenges
Operating without tax funding, MCA relied on donations from fundraisers, door-to-door soliciting, and raffles. Members personally financed operational costs when funds were exhausted.
Evolution and Expansion
MCA grew from a single Cadillac ambulance into a fleet with three ambulances, responder vehicles, chief vehicles, district vehicles, EMS bicycles, ATVs, and a UTV.
Establishing Headquarters
The Manorville Ambulance Tax District enabled construction of a headquarters building on South Street, dedicated in July 1985. MCA now operates from a larger six-bay facility.
Modern Developments
The headquarters was demolished on July 21, 2011, to make way for a new green building. MCA moved into the new facility on January 26, 2013, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 2, 2013.

MCA continues to update protocols, equipment, and training while honoring the charter members' vision of providing the best EMS care to district constituents and visitors.
