Brookhaven, NY - Manorville Community Ambulance is proud to announce the donation of one of its trailers to Troop 151, the Islip Boy Scout troop that recently suffered the theft of its fully stocked camping trailer just before Christmas.
The troop's loss included essential camping gear and carried an estimated value of approximately $10,000. The donation was intended to help the troop continue its camping season and reduce the financial burden caused by the theft.
Chief Lenny Schnall explained that the ambulance company saw another community group in need and had a trailer from an inactive youth squad program that was insured and registered but no longer being used.
With approval from the board of directors, the transfer supports another volunteer organization while putting idle equipment back into community service.
Manorville Community Ambulance is honored to stand with Troop 151 and the local community, reinforcing the spirit of service and volunteerism that first responders exemplify both on and off the job.
